This Week in IT News #10 (10-21-09)

It’s been a rough week with finals starting and whatnot, and keeping up with the news during this type of situation is always hard. Anyway, I have a few tidbits for you that I’ve picked up on some of my news feeds. This week though the big news is Windows 7 since it comes out tomorrow, and I won’t bore you with anything that’s already on a hundred other sites. With that said, here we go!

Darl McBride Terminated, Litigation Continues
Darl McBride has been removed from SCO. You would think that would mean the end of the anti-Linux madness, but think again – SCO apparently is planning on continuing the idiotic lawsuits in Darl’s place. I will post more as it develops. Until then, check out some of Darl’s most famous quotes.

Mozilla Blocks & Unblocks Microsoft Addons for Firefox
A couple of recent Firefox updates were blocked by Mozilla as being potential security risks. Apparently the updates came from Microsoft. After a while at least one of the updates were re-enabled.

That’s all I have for this week. I apologize for the short list. Perhaps the biggest part of the news is Windows 7, which is going to be released tomorrow. Are you getting it, or are you not going to bother?
